Overview
YZY TV is a magazine featuring film production coverage, fashion editorials, lifestyle content, and music photography produced by Dame Dash Studios. As a lead graphic designer and illustrator, I developed the visual identity and executed layout design, photo and copy editing, and print production coordination for the publication. Working with full creative autonomy, I collaborated with the creative director to transform photography collections into a cohesive editorial experience.
Approach
I spearheaded the development of a distinctive pop art aesthetic that combined bold geometric forms, vibrant color palettes, and rich textural elements. My role encompassed layout design, illustrations, image curation, type setting, copy editing, color grading and photo editing. This independent creative process involved managing technical production requirements, including printer research and file preparation. Throughout the project lifecycle I coordinated with photographers and writers, and presented designs to producers and creative directors.
Results
The final publication established a unique visual identity and elevated independent content to commercial editorial standards. The magazine's distinctive pop art approach created memorable brand recognition while effectively showcasing diverse content from film, fashion, and music industries. This project exemplifies my ability to lead editorial design projects from conceptualization through print production, delivering professional-grade publications that meet industry standards.
