Overview
This project was part of early concept development for an indie video game blending classic horror with small-town Americana. Players take on the role of a fearless young girl and her loyal dog as they search for a monster terrorizing their community, exploring themes of paranoia, nostalgia and unlikely heroes.




Approach
The visual direction juxtaposed a haunting atmosphere with a storybook style. The heroine’s naive courage allows her to confront dangers adults cannot, this is reflected in character designs that lean cartoony and approachable as the environments brim with menace. This contrast heightens the thematic tension of the story: a world that looks playful but feels unsettling.


Result
The outcome was a distinctive visual identity defined by soft eeriness in a classical cartoon style. The work succeeded in establishing a tonal balance that is both nostalgic and unnerving, capturing the timeless horror of small-town secrets and the enduring myth of the teenage werewolf.
