Health Net 101 Videos
Overview
Health Net provides coverage to 3 million members across California, making it one of the largest in the state. Health insurance coverage can be a stressful and confusing topic, this project’s goal was to create a series of eight educational videos to answer common coverage questions and empower individuals to select the right health care plan for their needs.

Approach
After exploring multiple approaches before landing on a chalkboard style with a playful edge. Due to the complexity, breadth and significance of the topic, I prioritized clarity and relatability in order to unsure the videos were digestible and useful. I created visual systems including color ways, metaphor and a cast of characters and circumstances to illustrate a wide array of concepts. These remained consistent in style and tone across the series.
Challenge
I was brought on to this project to develop an accessible visual style and create all the illustrations needed for the series. Our team adapted the script provided by Health Net to a succinct visual language. I created a massive collection of assets including characters, props and text treatments that were handed off to the animator.
